Short description of the event: Psychological Workload in Sports is one of the most frequently mentioned issues related to athletic preparation and performance. Psychological load depends on the effort exerted, task complexity, and available resources for overall processing (Cárdenas, Conde-González & Perales, 2015; Paas, Tuovinen, Tabbers, & Van Gerven, 2003). However, a review of specialized literature reveals a lack of experimental studies on this issue. During the symposium, findings from a cross-cultural study conducted in Bulgaria, Spain, and Latvia will be presented. Discussions will focus on the specific characteristics of psychological load in different sports and its relationship with other psychological variables. These results contribute to modern knowledge in sports psychology, emphasizing the need for a deeper exploration of the role of mental load in athletes’ sports preparation.
